This 'Hall of Fame' celebrates the many explorers who traversed the Laverton region from the mid-19th to early 20th century. They include the likes of John Forrest (later to become WA's first Premier), Ernest Giles (who emerged from the Great Victoria Desert in 1875, having commenced his journey at Beltana in South Australia), David Carnegie, Gus Luck and Frank Hann.
The Great Beyond exhibition is a ‘must visit’ Laverton attraction, utilising cutting edge technology, The Explorer's Hall of Fame brings to life the characters of the pastas these heroes of the inland tell their stories of hardship, bravery and perseverance in harsh and dangerous conditions. Step back in time with these hardy explorer's - and discover what it was like for the men and women of the Goldfields during the early days.
The Great Beyond Visitors Centre is open seven days a week, browse the extensive collection of books and souvenirs or relax and enjoy the cafe. As well as providing a wide range of tourist information, The Visitors Centre can issue Entry Permits for travel through Aboriginal Land (Western Australia and Northern Territory), and National Park Passes for the whole of Western Australia.
