Projects

Minimize
Goldfields Tourism Network is currently commencing on a number of projects for 2012:
  1. Golden Quest Discovery Trail Continuous Improvement Project:  Since the trail was developed in 2003, there have been a number of changes to/in/around the twenty five sites comprising the trail through the Shires of Coolgardie, Menzies, Leonora, Laverton, and City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, and with associated companies such as KCGM, and Minara.  The Golden Quest Discovery Trail - Continuous Improvement Project has been developed following an audit completed on the Golden Quest Discovery Trail in November 2011.  This audit was conducted by Jesse Brampton from Kulbardi Hill Consulting who was the trails consultant on the original design as a continuous improvement strategy to both improve the quality and ensure proper maintenance of the trail, particularly focusing on economic, social and cultural benefits from sustainable tourism to the region.  This project is possible with the provision of funding through the Minara Community Foundation Grant.
  2. Lake Ballard Marketing Project:  Assisting the Shire of Menzies, Goldfields Tourism Network is providing tourism marketing support for the Lake Ballard attraction, a synergy with the Golden Quest Discovery Trail, Snake Hill at Site 20.  This project is possible with the provision of funding through LotteryWest.
  3. Perth Royal Show District Display:  Each year we endeavour to showcase either an iconic location from the Goldfields or an item of historical significance.  In 2011, we welcomed visitors to the Outback Pub, and in 2012, will showcase ‘liquid gold’ of the Goldfields – water.  Funded by the Shires of Coolgardie, Menzies, Leonora, Laverton, Wiluna and City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
